TIGA Delivers Tax Break Petition

Today TIGA delivered a petition to 10 Downing Street calling for UK Tax breaks, similar to those in the film industry to be introduced. The petition is signed by 55 senior industry figures, all the names of which can be viewed at www.tiga.org.

The petition was hand delivered at 11 am today by by Richard Wilson, CEO of TIGA; Matthew Nagy, Managing Director of Coyote Console; Philip Oliver, Chief Executive of Blitz Games Studios and Mark Gerhard, CEO of Jagex Ltd. Bill Olner MP for Nuneaton and Chairman of the All Party Parliamentary Group for the Computer and Video Games Industry accompanied the industry figures to Number 10 to deliver the petition.

Richard Wilson CEO of TIGA said

The introduction of a Games Tax Relief would increase employment, investment and enable British video game developers to better compete against those countries which have sort to attract this growing sector using tax incentives.”

If the UK intends to capitalise on this modern industry and echo the success of the UK film industry then I urge the Government to introduce a Games Tax Relief as a matter of urgency
